On September 20, 1965, the Hudson's Bay Company unveiled a new look for itself, its eponymous department store chain, and its Montréal-based chain Morgan's, designed by Lippincott & Margulies of New York. "Hudson's" and "Company" were dropped from the name in favor of the store's simple colloquial nickname, "The Bay".
