Travel Channel was launched in mid-1996 by Landmark Communications as a Latin American feed of Travel Channel.
People+Arts was launched on October 6, 1997 alongside Animal Planet as People & Arts Network, a joint-venture between Discovery Communications and the BBC (via its commercial division at the time, BBC Worldwide). When Discovery purchased the US Travel Channel, People&Arts was merged with the Latin American feed a year later.
The channel was named El nuevo/O novo Travel Channel: People+Arts; & after some time, the tagline was removed and was rebranded to People+Arts (pronounced People and Arts)
People+Arts shut down in Spain on January 8, 2010, with the Latin American branch being relaunched on April 12, 2010, as Liv, while retaining the same programming.
