In October 1997, Discovery Latin America acquired Travel Channel as result of the acquisition of the parent network in the United States.

Both People & Arts Network and Travel Channel were merged, resulting on El nuevo/O novo Travel Channel: People+Arts, with the former absorbing the later in both distribution and programming. The tagline was later removed, and People+Arts (pronounced People and Arts) was kept.
