After the club's license was awarded to new owners, it was renamed to the Hawks to broaden the club's appeal.
Illawarra Hawks (third era) [ ] 2021-present [ ] Midway through the 2020-21 season, the NBL reinstated the 'Illawarra' name after a successful bid by the club to boost local support.
