After using the South Side Amusement Company banner as an in-name only credit, ImageMovers was officially founded in 1997 by Robert Zemeckis, Jack Rapke and Steve Starkey, with the last South Side Amusement Company film being Contact (1997). The ImageMovers logo was first trademarked in 1998, but did not start using an animated logo until its first film What Lies Beneath was released in 2000.

Both of these logos were trademarked in 2006, but no use of them has ever been registered, outside of the train logo being trademarked again in 2010, but still going unused.
