In 2021, Imaginarium announced that it will lay off the majority of its employees and keep only two stores open in Spain (Vélez-Málaga and Zaragoza) due the COVID-19 Pandemic.
In September 2023, Imaginarium closed its last physical store in Zaragoza, marking the end of its presence in the city where it was founded.
On April 2, 2024, Imaginarium announced its permanent closure through its social media channels, as well as the decommissioning of its corporate website.
