Isla Communications (Islacom)[]
1990–2003[]
On June 15, 1990, Isla Communications Co., Inc. (Islacom) was incorporated. Through Republic Act 7372, Islacom was authorized to develop full-service telecommunications network in the country.
At one point, it was jointly owned by the Ayala Corporation and Deutsche Telekom, with Singtel as a possible future partner.
In 2001, Islacom was merged with Globe Telecom and Islacom's mobile cellular network division later changed its name to Touch Mobile.
Innove Commnications[]
2003–present[]
On August 25, 2003, the SEC approved the change in name of Islacom to Innove Communications, Inc. (Innove), In the same year, the National Telecommunications Commission ("NTC") granted Globe Telecom's application to transfer its fixed line business assets and subscribers to Islacom, pursuant to its strategy to integrate all of its fixed line services under Islacom. Innove currently handles Globe At Home residential broadband, Globe Business fixed broadband and GoWiFi hotspot service.
Innove Communications formerly handles Touch Mobile as the network became Globe's budget MVNO brand in 2008.
