Pentium Silver replaced Intel Atom x5 and x7 processors, leaving that brand used only for networking devices. Some laptops with Pentium Silver processors will use the Intel Inside logo stickers instead.

In 2022, Intel announced that both Pentium and Celeron brands will be dropped on desktops and laptops, and it was replaced by the new Intel Processor branding in 2023. However, some Alder Lake-based Pentium processors were still in production as of 2023.
