The Pentium II is a 6th generation of x86 processors. On February 28, 1999, the Pentium II processor was replaced by the Intel Pentium III. On June 27, 2002, Intel announced that orders for this processor was discontinued and non-cancelable on December 27, 2002, and shipments for this processor will end on December 26, 2003.[1]
