1985-2007[]
Intel's i386 line was launched on October 17, 1985, for use on personal computers. This replaced the Intel 80286 line of processors.
Intel i386 was later replaced by the i486 line in 1989, but Intel continued producing i386 chips for embedded and industrial use as well as mobile phones such as the Nokia 9000 Communicator and BlackBerry 950, until 2007.
