In 2002, The New York Times and Discovery Communications entered into a joint-venture to run the channel. Following this, it was rebranded as Discovery Times Channel in 2003. The word "Times" is lifted from the New York Times's nameplate.

A metallic look was added to this logo and a slightly different font was used.

Investigation Discovery got a new on-air look in March 2012.
2017–2020
Investigation Discovery (ID) debuted a minorly-revamped logo on December 2, 2017. The square is now in a silver color, albeit still keeping the font although changed to black, with a noticeable change in the font below it. The network’s on-screen bug was modified as well, with the square no longer being glossy also with a font change.
2020–present
On April 12, 2020, Investigation Discovery debuted a completely new logo, shortening its on-screen name to ID.
