Inwi is one of three major telecommunications companies in Morocco, along with Maroc Telecom and Orange. It is a joint venture between Zain, the Kuwaiti multinational telecom group (31%), and Al Mada (formerly SNI), the holding company of the Moroccan royal family (69%).
