Istanbul Airport (Turkish: İstanbul Havalimanı) is the primary airport serving Istanbul, the largest city in Turkey. It partially opened on 29 October 2018 to coincide with the 95th anniversary of the proclamation of the Turkish Republic. All scheduled commercial passenger flights were transferred from Atatürk Airport, the previous main airport of Istanbul, to Istanbul Airport on 6 April 2019.

The airport aims to be the world’s busiest airport, with a capacity of 90 million passengers annually in Phase I.
