Japan Domestic Airlines was formed on April 15, 1964 out of the mergers of Nitto Air Lines, Fuji Air Lines, and North Japan Airines.
Toa Domestic Airlines[]
1971–1988[]
On May 15, 1971, the airline merged with Toa Airways to form Toa Domestic Airlines.
Japan Air System[]
1988–2004[]
On April 1, 1988, the airline changed its name to Japan Air System.
Japan Airlines Domestic[]
2004-2006[]
Following the merger with Japan Airlines in 2002, Japan Air System changed its name to Japan Airlines Domestic on April 1, 2004, adapting the same brand as JAL at the time. On October 1, 2006, it merged with Japan Airlines.
