Jardine Matheson (commonly known as Jardines) are a group of majority business serving Asia Pacific, from its domicile in Bermuda. The group's subsidiaries has 8 major companies, having its control of the Keswick family, who are the descendants of William Jardine's eldest sister, Jean Johnstone.
Founded by William Jardine and James Matheson, it was one of the first family companies in the trading houses (or Hongs), dating back to its roots of Imperial China (under the Qing Dynasty), and, as of December 2010, 41% of its profits were earned in China.
