Don Simpson/Jerry Bruckheimer Films

The company was co-founded by producers Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer in 1984 - producing a large number of action films - and began to use their double lighting logo in 1990. After Simpson's death in 1996, the company changed its name to Jerry Bruckheimer Films. The new on-screen logo debuted in 1997.

However, the double lightning logo was reused in Bad Boys II (2003), Bad Boys for Life (2019), and Top Gun: Maverick (2021), sequels to films originally produced by both Simpson and Bruckheimer (Top Gun (1986) and Bad Boys (1995)). As of May 2019, the double lightning logo is now currently being reused as a secondary logo in tandem with the primary current 1997 logo today.
