Headquartered in Brussels, KBC Group N.V. is a Belgian financial services company that operates primarily in five European countries: Belgium (as KBC Bank), Bulgaria (as UBB), the Czech Republic and Slovakia (as ČSOB) and Hungary (as K&H Bank). It was also a major bank in Ireland (as KBC Bank Ireland) until 2021, when its Irish operations were sold to Bank of Ireland.
1998–present[]
KBC Bank was created in its current form in 1998 after the merger of two Belgian banks (Kredietbank and CERA Bank) and a Belgian insurance company (Assurances du Boerenbond Belge; ABB).
