On January 1, 2009, KBTV dropped its 51-year affiliation with NBC and became a Fox affiliate. The NBC affiliation moved to a digital subchannel of ABC affiliate KBMT, while previous Fox affiliate KUIL-LP (now a MyNetworkTV affiliate) became an independent station.
