KBUL - 1970s

Country station KBUL bought out KWBB in December 1976 and took over its spot on the air, moving from 900 to 1410, on May 30, 1977.

KEYN - 1975

KBUL changed its call sign in January 1978 to match sister station KEYN-FM, and adopted a rock format.

KQAM[]

1980–1991[]

The KEYN stations were purchased by Long-Pride Broadcasting, owned by businessman Jimmy Long and country singer Charley Pride, in 1980. The AM split from the KEYN name and flipped to oldies, becoming KQAM on September 15, 1980.
