In 1994, then-owners Burnham Broadcasting sold KHON-TV and three other stations (WALA-TV in Mobile, AL, WVUE in New Orleans, LA and WLUK-TV in Green Bay, WI) to SF Broadcasting (a joint venture of Savoy Communications and News Corporation), who announced the four stations would become Fox affiliates. On January 1, 1996, KHON-TV announced that NBC affiliation has moved to former Fox affiliate KHNL (VHF channel 13).

In October 2013, KHON-TV premiered its newscasts in high definition. With the upgrade came along a new logo.
