In 1994, then-owners Burnham Broadcasting sold KHON-TV and three other stations (WALA-TV in Mobile, AL, WVUE in New Orleans, LA and WLUK-TV in Green Bay, WI) to SF Broadcasting (a joint venture of Savoy Communications and News Corporation), who announced the four stations would become Fox affiliates. KHON-TV's NBC affiliation moved to former Fox affiliate KHNL (channel 13) on January 1, 1996.
