On February 1, 2016, KEVN-TV assumed the callsign and intellectual assets of KOTA-TV, including the ABC affiliation following an asset realignment related to Gray Television's merger with former KOTA owner Schurz Communications that also resulted in the KEVN call letters, virtual channel 7 and programming (including the Fox affiliation) to move to low-power station KEVN-LD.
