On February 27, 1981, KMJ-TV was sold to San Joaquin Communications, who changed the stations callsign to KSEE-TV on that day. In turn, the station was then sold to the Meredith Corporation 3 years later.
Meredith subsequently sold the station to Granite Broadcasting, in a deal that included CBS affiliate WTVH in Syracuse, New York, on December 27, 1993.
