Kanal D is one of Romania's most-watched private TV channels, alongside Antena 1 and Pro TV. It is owned by Doğan Media Group, which also owns the Turkish television channel of the same name.

Kanal D was launched in Romania on February 18, 2007.
2022–present[]
On March 1, 2022, on the 15th anniversary of the station, Kanal D updated its logo, removing the black box below the symbol. Also, with this change, both the channel's promotions and graphics have been modified.[1]
