Kcell is the leading mobile network in Kazakhstan by subscribers, followed by Beeline, Tele2 and Altel. Kcell and its sub-brand Activ launched in 1999, and were owned by Telia Company until being sold to the state-owned telecom company Kazakhtelecom in 2018. (Kazakhtelecom also acquired Tele2 in 2019.)

2009–present[]
Kcell introduced a new purple pebble logo in 2009, the same year as Geocell in Georgia. This logo would eventually be adopted as the corporate logo of TeliaSonera (the previous name of Telia Company) in 2011.
Telia Company sold its stake in Kcell to Kazakhtelecom in January 2018, but the previous purple pebble logo used by Telia Company (when it was called TeliaSonera) remains unchanged. However, ex-Telia Company mobile networks in some other countries, like Azercell, Geocell and Tcell, changed their logos in 2019 while retaining the violet colour.
