Khaleej Times (Khaleej being the Arabic word for gulf) is the oldest English-language daily newspaper in the United Arab Emirates, published from Dubai. It was established on 16 April 1978, a few months before Gulf News, another English-language newspaper in the country. The two newspapers compete with each other as well as with The National, which is published from Abu Dhabi.
