Kika (formerly known as "Der Kinderkanal") is the German children's television network run by ARD and ZDF. It is focused on children's programming for children and young adults.

Der Kinderkanal made its debut on January 1, 1997. This logo consisted of the red X holding a yellow X's hand, with an oval placed in the center of the Xs, with "Der Kinderkanal" in Ad Lib being placed in it.
Ki.Ka[]
2000–2012[]

In an effort to be more appealing to older children, Der Kinderkanal changed its name to Ki.Ka on May 1, 2000. This identity was designed in the Netherlands by N+T Vision.
Over 5 years later, on October 1, 2005, the channel's identity had received a major makeover, designed by Ingo Steinacker.
