The current logo was introduced on 10 June 2000; prior to its 35th anniversary. This logo was first used on UEFA Euro 2000 edition tabloids, before started being used on the top front of newspapers later in the same year. The font was changed from Bodoni Antiqua to Bodoni BE, and the letter kerning was widened. This was used concurrently with the 1971 logo until 31 December 2001.

On 28 June 2005 - its 40th anniversary - the 1971 logo was discontinued from official usage, thereby making the 2000 logo the sole official logo of the paper. This change coincided with the changing of the wordmark's colour from black to blue, along with the introduction of a new newspaper layout.
