Kompas TV was launched on 9 September 2011. Three days after launched, they changed their name temporarily to only Kompas due to a statement from the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission considering their existence as a content provider rather than a television network. In October 2012, they altered the name back to Kompas TV. The logo itself was still being on-air until 28 January 2016, and remaining as a corporate logo until 19 October 2017.
