LazyTown is a Icelandic media franchise created by Magnús Scheving. Originally it started out as books but then it transitioned into stage plays, merchandising and many more. LazyTown became highly praised worldwide when the show debuted in 2004. Currently, the franchise is owned by Warner Bros.' Global Kids, Young Adults and Classics division.

The LazyTown name was originally used for an English version of the brand with English songs being translated from Icelandic and dubbed into English. However, plans fell through.

Lazytown

In 2003, the franchise got a makeover as Nickelodeon commissioned an television show based on the brand. Songs were rewritten and re-recorded, broadcast deals were made, characters went a major redesign among others. The show premiered in 2004 to being successful in over a million countries.

In 2011, Turner Europe acquired LazyTown Entertainment and began producing new seasons for the show. However, delays caused problems to the staff of the show.

Lazy town logo

The logo was introduced in 2012 alongside a trailer for Season 3. The swoosh was changed to match Sportacus' coluors.
