In 2002, CEO Yang Yuanqing decided to abandon the Legend brand name to expand internationally, as "Legend" was impossible to register in most jurisdictions. In April 2003, the new name Lenovo was unveiled; a portmanteau of "Le-" from "Legend" and "novo", the Latin ablative for "new".

2015–present
