ABS-CBN launches Liga when Hero TV last signed off at 12:04 AM and rebrands into Liga on February 1, 2018.
After almost 2 years of broadcast, Liga ceased its broadcast on pay TV effective on October 29, 2020 due to programming redundancies, lack of advertising support, and cross-cutting measures, as well as the implementation of a retrenchment program covering its business company from August 7, following the non-renewal of its congressional franchise on July 10. ABS-CBN's sports division dissolved its business operations during the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines, as well as the network's controversial shutdown. It will have no source of sports programs for airing, which is the management's reason why they decided to discontinue the airing of the channel. However, its cable channel space was replaced by Cine Mo! on the following day.
