On January 21, 2019, Indonesia state-owned telecommunications company Telkomsel and public banks (BNI, BRI, BTN, and Bank Mandiri) announced that they would merge its server-based electronic money services, including Telkomsel's T-Cash, Mandiri e-cash and BNI's yap! and UnikQu into a single entity and a brand called LinkAja (Stylized as LinkAja!) to compete with fellow digital wallets such as GoPay, Ovo and Dana.
It replaced T-Cash's app on February 22, 2019, and had integrated other public banks' digital wallet services until finally launched on June 30, 2019.
