In May 1980, a revised store identity was introduced in a bid to modernize the chain, ditching the cartoon mascot and going all-in on a sleek geometric symbol and re-spelled name. In 1984, Little General was sold to Circle K, who began converting Little General locations to their own stores in May 1985.
