1999–2008[]
In November 1998, Radio Concierto was acquired by Ibero American Radio Chile alongside Futuro, nearly one year later; in August 1999, Concierto temporally closed and on it nationwide network FM Hit was launched.

Meanwhile; CRC (Consorcio Radial de Chile) launch 40 Principales in January 1, 2000, remplacing Classica, a jazz-themed radio station. Since the launch date, 40 Principales was one of the most importante competitors of FM Hit.

Due the bought of Ibero American Radio Chile by Grupo Latino de Radio (Prisa's radio branch) and both companies (IARC and CRC) have a very similar radio stations, in February 8, 2008, FM Hit and 40 Principales merges in a single radio: Hit 40.
Los 40 Principales (second era)[]
2009–2016[]
One year later, in March 8, 2008. Hit 40 becomes again 40 Principales, ending the FM Hit era and branding.
