This golden bolt logo was retained during the Charger's relocation from San Diego to Los Angeles. An alternate logo featuring 'LA' in the bolt style was introduced the day after the announced relocation in January 2017, but was quickly removed after being ridiculed for looking similar other sport's teams colors and logos, particularly the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Lightning.

For the 2020 season, the team's logos were re-designed. The golden bolt logo was slightly straightened and the navy blue was eliminated entirely.
