Lufthansa is the flag carrier of Germany and the largest airline in Europe. The identity is based on Deutsche Luft Hansa, a legally-separate airline that went defunct 8 years prior to Lufthansa's formation.

Lufthansa refreshed their 1963 brand in February 2018. This balanced out the crane icon, thinned the circle and changed the typeface from the Helvetica base to a custom corporate font. The new logo was designed by Ronald Wild and the typeface was designed by Hannes von Döhren.
The primary difference of the rebrand is the demotion of Lufthansa Yellow to secondary swatch and removing it from the aircraft livery, which has an all-blue tailfin. Lufthansa Yellow is still used as the secondary colour.
