2009-2010
The logo for Munich's 2018 Olympic application was presented at an event on October 16, 2009.
The logo can symbolize many things, for example the mountains that surround Munich and can be seen around the city, the tented roofs on the Munich Olympiapark, the "Schwung" of the application, as well as a hand-written M.
2010-
In June 2010, the IOC declared that all three applicants had become candidate cities. The logos were updated, and the Olympic rings were added.
