M-Net Movies was launched as the Movie Magic Channel by M-Net in 1995 owing to the formation of DStv.
2002–2005[]
In 2002, the Channel word was removed, thereby the name reading Movie Magic.
M-Net Movies[]

2005–2010[]
In 2005, the channel was renamed as the current M-Net Movies.
2010–2011[]
From 2007 to 2013, the "mnet" wording was replaced with a yellow-colour-themed M-Net logo.
2011–2012[]
2012–2020[]
Owing to the the M-Net logo rebranding in 2013, the M-Net logo revamped its look to appeal to the HD-feed switch.
2020–present[]
With the COVID-19 pandemic shutting down film/movie production studios which would have serious consequences in newer film/movie releases, MutliChoice and M-Net restructured its channel offerings on DStv as well as introducing a logo to match in September.
