M1 is the co-flagship TV channel (along with Duna) of Magyar Televízió, the TV division of MTVA, the Hungarian public broadcasting organisation.
Since 2015, M1 is a 24-hour news channel, leaving general/entertainment programming to Duna.

On March 15, 2015, M1 was relaunched as a 24-hour news channel, meaning all variety programming would now air on Duna.
2020–present[]
On March 15, 2020, M1 simplified its logo by removing the gaps between the circle and the line. Moreover, the logo is now blue, and the M1 wordmark has been removed. A new graphics package was also introduced.
