M1 is the third telecom company and mobile network operator in Singapore (in terms of both foundation date and market share), launched after Singtel and StarHub. Until 2019, it was owned by Axiata Group of Malaysia.

Axiata sold its minority stake in M1 in 2019.
2020–present
M1 adopted a new logo on 21 December 2020. In addition, it replaced Gotham, its corporate typeface, with the Din font (which is used by competitor StarHub).
