MSC.Working Knowledge (formerly known as Knowledge Revolution) was an American software development company founded by David Baszucki, who later went on to create Roblox. The company is notable for its software products including Interactive Physics, Working Model, AutoMotion, and visualNastran.

In 1989, Knowledge Revolution released Interactive Physics. In 1991, Erik Cassel, who later went on with David Baszucki to establish the Roblox Corporation, joined Knowledge Revolution and became the company's vice president of engineering.

1996–1999[]

In 1996, Knowledge Revolution released its second product known as Working Model, an improved version of Interactive Physics with some 3D components.

On December 22, 1998, MacNeal-Schwendler Corporation acquired the company for $19.2 million.

In 1999, MacNeal-Schwendler Corporation rebranded to MSC.Software Corporation, and Knowledge Revolution was rebranded to MSC.Working Knowledge.

2000–2003[]

By 2003, MSC.Working Knowledge was merged into its parent company. David Baszucki, who ended up serving as vice president and general manageer of MSC.Software, had left the company in 2002. He convinced Erik Cassel to leave the company in 2003, with the duo eventually creating what would become the Roblox Corporation on March 23, 2004.
