When the company adopted a logo in 1970, it featured a parody of the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer logo, with an orange tabby cat named Mimsie in the center. In June 1988, Mimsie passed away at the age of twenty. The small orange kitten, who resembles Mimsie made a small cameo appearing on the windowsill at the end of the Hot in Cleveland episode, "Love is All Around" and does a meow in an homage to the company's logo.

The logo used the Peignot font for the text, which would also be used in the first Viacom logo.
