MTN Group is a South African multinational telecommunications company operating in several countries in Africa and the Middle East, as well as Afghanistan. In its home country of South Africa, it is the second-largest telecom company, after Vodacom and ahead of Cell C and Telkom.
MTN operates using its own brand in most countries. However, in Botswana it uses the Mascom brand, in Iran it is known as MTN Irancell, and in Liberia it is known as Lonestar Cell-MTN. It also operated in Cyprus in Europe, until Monaco Telecom acquired it in 2019 and rebranded it to Epic.
