Since 2008 on the premiere of ''FNMTV'', MTV had showed a revised and chopped down version of its traditional logo during most of its on air programming.<ref>[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MTV#2010_rebranding]]</ref> This variation became MTV's official logo on February 8, 2010, when it debuted on MTV's website. MTV dropped "Music Television" for the very first time, altering the basic structure of the logo. The tagline "Music Television" was eliminated to reflect the network's dramatic decrease in music-related programming. Notice that other lower parts of the logo have also been removed. Music videos still air on the channel as part of its early morning ''AMTV'' block, which replaced ''FNMTV'' in 2009.

The "Music Television" tagline was eliminated to reflect the network's dramatic decrease in music-related programming, although it started to shift its focus back to music in April 2016. This has also cut off the excess right of the letter "V", like the bottom of the "M".

MTV (2010)

Since 2008 on the premiere of FNMTV, MTV had shown a revised and chopped down version of its original 1981 logo during most of its on-air programming. This became MTV's official logo on March 18, 2009, when it first debuted on MTV's website. The "Music Television" tagline was eliminated to reflect the network's dramatic decrease in music-related programming, although it started to shift its focus back to music in April 2016. This has also cut off the excess right of the letter "V", like the bottom of the "M".
