In May 2013, MTV Russia was replaced on analog and cable by Friday!, but was relaunched on satellite by Viacom in October.

MTV-2021

On April 28, 2022, MTV was shut down in Russia due to the invasion of Ukraine.[1]Meanwhile, the channel continued broadcasting in other CIS countries (i.e. Georgia, Belarus).

On December 15, 2022, MTV Russia was finally closed down after being closed in the CIS countries. It was replaced by MTV Global.
