MacFrugal's was the name given to Pic 'N' Save stores in the Southern United States after litigation from the similarly-named Florida-based Pic n' Save chain necessitated the change (this unrelated chain later closed in 1996). This move affected 122 Pic 'N' Save stores in Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and Louisiana. Parent company MacFrugals, Inc. (the former Pic 'N' Save Corporation) was acquired in 1997 by Consolidated Stores Corporation, owner of Big Lots and Odd Lots. Both stores would be folded into the Big Lots name in 2001.
