2019–present
On 1 August 2018, T-Mobile Austria acquired UPC Austria from Liberty Global. After announcing that the combined entity would bear a single brand[1], the T-Mobile and UPC brands were replaced by the Magenta Telekom brand on 7 May 2019. This is only Deutsche Telekom’s second majority-owned consumer brand other than Telekom and T-Mobile to be used, the first being Cosmote in Greece.[2]
