UNI-FUN Radio

1990–1991

Uni-Fun Radio began broadcasting on January 11, 1990. UNI-FUN Radio (UNI from the University of Bucharest and FUN from FUN Radio Paris) broadcast on the frequency 69.8 MHz (the first tests were performed on 70.0 and 69.9 MHz). On May 23, 1990, after some disagreements with the Student League of the University of Bucharest (the French donation being to this organization), the station moved to the Hotel Dorobanți and changed its name to FUN Radio.

Unifan Radio

1991–1992

There are disagreements between the Romanian and the French side and thus on April 30, 1991 the radio is divided into UNIFAN Radio (the Romanian part, based in the Modern Hotel) and FUN Radio (the French part, broadcasting from the Roman Arenas). Both radios were broadcasting at 69.8 MHz, after this frequency remaining only UNIFAN, FUN Radio would get the frequency of 67.8 MHz.

Uniplus

On April 30, 1992 Unifan becomes Uniplus Radio (the idea of Daniel Klinger to avoid confusion with the 67.8 MHz radio - FUN Radio), gradually changing its studio from Hotel Dorobanți to Speranței Street, then to Latin Street, and finally in Delea Veche Street. It obtained the 99.3 MHz broadcast license, but in 2001 it was purchased through a company owned by Cristian Burci, by SBS Broadcasting (media trust later bought by the pan-European Pro7Sat1 trust) and renamed to Star FM . It changes its frequency again from 99.3 MHz to 90.8 MHz (for higher power output), and later the name, in Magic FM.

Star FM

2001–2006

In 2005, the station was sold to the SBS Broadcasting Corporation trust, and following a rebranding, the station became Magic FM, becoming the Kiss FM (formerly Contact Radio) radio network part of the same group, but positioned on another audience segment.
