Magnolia Network[]
2022–2024[]
On March 1, 2022, Corus Entertainment announced that it would rebrand DIY Network as Magnolia Network on March 28, making it the first version of that network to launch outside the United States.[1]
On June 7, 2024, Corus Entertainment was informed by Warner Bros. Discovery, the latter saying that the brand licensing and programming agreements for Corus' WBD-branded lifestyle and factual networks would expire after December 31, 2024. Rogers Sports & Media announced three days later that they would take over the rights to those brands in the country, including Magnolia Network. Corus stated in its announcement that it would continue to operate the affected channels with their existing Canadian content, but with new names and "alternate foreign content supply". The broadcaster later clarified that some of the affected brands would be shuttered instead. Rogers later announced on August 28 that they would launch a new Magnolia Network channel on January 1, 2025.
In November and December 2024, it was revealed on several TV providers' websites that the original Corus operated Magnolia Network channel would be shuttered at midnight on December 31, 2024. This change was directly confirmed by Corus via the channel's website on December 8. Following the shutdown, the channel's broadcast license will be returned to the CRTC for revocation.
