TV Markíza is the most popular TV channel in Slovakia, owned by Central European Media Enterprises, a European subsidiary of PPF Group (and formerly WarnerMedia). Its principal competitors are the commercial channel TV JOJ and the state broadcaster RTVS. The channel is easily identifiable by its two trademarks, a stylised letter M inside a circle since 1996 and a 5-note sonic brand (G-C'-C-F-G) from the same year.
Its sister channels are Markíza Doma, Markíza Dajto and Markíza Krimi, in addition to Markíza International, a special feed that airs in the Czech Republic. Unlike its foreign sister broadcasters (Nova in the Czech Republic, bTV in Bulgaria and Pro TV in Romania), CME’s Slovak TV channels did not all use the common Markíza brand until a rebranding on 10 August 2022.
Markíza refreshed its look on 1 February 2013, featuring the FF Clan font. The new look was designed by local firm Stratégie. The channel's newscast was rebranded at the same time.
After only two years, Markíza introduced its graphics package on 15 February 2015. Instead of the non-concentric circles used in the previous graphics, this look features yellow and blue discs spiraling around the Markíza logo. The Soho Slab font is used in on-air typography. This graphics package was used for seven years.
On 2 May 2022, the Markíza channels announced their first rebranding in several years, which would go on-air in summer 2022. The main Markíza channel incorporated the Markiza font in its logo, based on Organica, the custom typeface of its Czech counterpart TV Nova. Meanwhile, Doma and Dajto would be renamed to Markíza Doma and Markíza Dajto, respectively, and a fourth channel, Markíza Krimi, would launched. These are the first rebrandings of any of CME’s Slovak channels since 2016.
The three main Markíza channels rebranded on 10 August 2022, introducing the new logo scheme which was originally implemented by Markíza Krimi, which was launched on 6 June 2022. The rebranding was done by Red Bee Creative, which had done the rebranding for its counterparts Pro TV and TV Nova. Markíza Plus and Televízne noviny also introduced new logos.
